In cooperation with the International Labour Organization of the United Nations, the All-China Youth Federation has launched the KAB Entrepreneurship Education Program in Chinese universities since August 2005, which is an exploration of the Youth League to serve young students' entrepreneurship and employment through international cooperation.
Over the past 18 years, KAB Entrepreneurship Education Program implement the national policy of innovation and entrepreneurship and serve the growth of young people, which has actively played its role in serving young people and cultivating talents, focused on cultivating college students' innovative spirit, practical ability and entrepreneurial ability, and established such operating mechanisms as teacher training, teaching research, quality control, extracurricular practice and media communication. The program was deeply welcomed by teachers and students. Besides, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Ministry of Education also fully affirmed the achievements of KAB Program in the field of entrepreneurship education, and proposed to continue to deepen the KAB Entrepreneurship Education Program in relevant documents.
In terms of teacher training, more than 1,1000 KAB entrepreneurship education teachers from more than 1,840 colleges and universities have been trained, creating a precedent for entrepreneurship education in China, cultivating a large number of professional teachers of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities, and making a great contribution to promoting the development of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities and serving the growth and success of young students.
In terms of teaching research, the Program has introduced, compiled and published two sets of teaching materials, namely KAB Entrepreneurship Foundation for college students, for teachers and students; taken the lead in formulating an indicator system for China’s youth social entrepreneurship, and edited and published China's first Chinese Youth Social Entrepreneurship Report (2014) and Chinese Youth Social Entrepreneurship Report (2016); emphasized practical teaching and organized the compiling of Practical Training Guidance for College Students' Entrepreneurship; searched for entrepreneur cases of college students, and edited and published a series of books on Top 100 Entrepreneurial Heroes of College Students; and issued reports on entrepreneurship education and practice of college students every year.
In terms of quality control, in accordance with the standards of the KAB entrepreneurship education program standard and the actual teacher training and teaching situations, the colleges and universities that meet the evaluation conditions would be listed as KAB entrepreneurship education bases for college students every year. The talent system of KAB entrepreneurship education lecturers, trainers, and senior trainers has been established, and qualification certificates have been issued to those who meet the evaluation and certification standards.
In terms of extracurricular practice, KAB Entrepreneurship Club for University students has been set up in more than 430 colleges and universities, with a total of 100,000 members admitted per session and thousands of innovative and entrepreneurial practice activities held every year. Every year, we organize KAB Entrepreneurship Club for college students to conduct demonstration activities and training camps, exchange work experience, improve the management ability of the leaders of the associations, enhance the ability of the associations to serve the entrepreneurs of college students, and activate the cultural atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship in colleges and universities.
In terms of entrepreneurship support, through public welfare entrepreneurship activities and micro-entrepreneurship activities for college students, we have connected many incubation institutions and participated in tens of thousands of programs, with a total of tens of millions of yuan of start-up support funds issued to college students and more than 600 programs incubated. We have held nearly 40 sessions of national college students' entrepreneurship training camp, and trained more than 5,000 college entrepreneurs. Besides, we’ve held five sessions of searching for heroes of college entrepreneurs, and publicized their entrepreneurial cases and social problems solved by lectures, entrepreneurship story editing and broadcasting services.
In terms of media communication, it has paid extensive attention to social hot issues, policies, experts, young makers and investors regarding innovation and entrepreneurship by making full use of China Youth Daily and its new media matrix and giving full play to the vertical communities such as KAB entrepreneurship club's Wechat Official Accounts, website and youth entrepreneurship headline App. In recent years, there have been more than 50 live video broadcasts, more than 1,000 original reports, affecting tens of millions of young students.
In terms of international exchanges, it has actively undertaken such diplomatic and outreach activities as The Asia-Pacific Forum on Youth Leadership, Innovation and Entrepreneurship hosted by the All-China Youth Federation, “the Belt and Road” Youth Story Sharing, and the Lancang-Mekong Youth entrepreneurship Exchange Campus, to build an exchange platform for youth innovation and entrepreneurship between China and relevant countries, guide young people at home and abroad to take an active part in the Belt and Road Initiative, and tell the story of Chinese youth.
