To implement the initiative of “jointly launching the Action Plan for Global Youth Development” proposed by President Xi Jinping at the High-level Dialogue on Global Development in 2022, the All-China Youth Federation, together with UN agencies and youth organizations from various countries jointly initiated and promoted the Action Plan for Global Youth Development (hereinafter referred to as the Action Plan) in 2022. The Action Plan aims to build a platform for best practice programs and a community of youth leaders for the implementation of the Global Development Initiative and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By selecting and promoting Excellence Programs that contribute to global development and youth development, the Action Plan seeks to advance the international development agenda, advocate for international youth actions, and pool the strength of youth to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

From 2022 to 2025, the Action Plan selected 200 Excellence Programs in two batches from 63 countries. These programs cover a wide range of areas, apply innovative working methods, and are implemented by youth organizations, social enterprises, media, education and training institutions. In order to improve the growth and sustainability of the programs, the Action Plan works on the empowerment mechanism and provide follow-up support for youth leaders, including international exchanges, study and training, program acceleration and resources connectivity.

To promote the Action Plan, showcase its achievements, and empower youth leaders, the All-China Youth Federation, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and China Youth Daily have jointly hosted the Acceleration Week for Global Youth Development Programs since 2025. The Acceleration Week is an annual flagship event of the Action Plan. The 2025 Acceleration Week was held in Suzhou, Shanghai, Changsha, and Xi’an. The 2026 Acceleration Week will be held from June 11 to 17 in Shanghai and Wuhan, and will hold a series of activities including Pre-Meeting, Launching Ceremony, Workshops, Partnership Meetings, Culture Night, and enterprise site visits and exchanges.
