On April 28, the China-Cambodia Youth Development “Cloud Seminar” hosted by the All-China Youth Federation and organized by the Guangxi Youth Federation, China (Guangxi) International Youth Exchange College, and Zhejiang Youth League School was successfully concluded. The three-day event held online and offline provided new and old friends from China and Cambodia with a new opportunity to gather online for a better future.
Focusing on digital economy, the “Cloud Seminar” is one of the series of activities of the “Bridge to the Future” China-ASEAN Thousand-Young-Leader Training Program in 2022. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues in 2022, the “Cloud Seminar” bears the enthusiasm of the young people of China and Cambodia, demonstrating the strong vitality of youth exchanges between the two countries with its colorful connotations. Fu Zhenbang, Vice President of the All-China Youth Federation, pointed out in his speech that China and Cambodia are good neighbors and partners who are always helping each other. Nurtured by generations of leaders in both countries, the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia is deep-rooted and enduring. The high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative” jointly realized by the two countries has brought tangible benefits to the Chinese and Cambodian people.
Young people tend to“embrace innovation” in the new digital era
A variety of courses were designed for participants in the 3-day “Cloud Seminar”. The youth of the two countries had in-depth study and discussion on topics such as “innovation and entrepreneurship in the context of big data”, “rural revitalization and e-commerce”, “smart city construction in the context of big data”, and “industrial transformation and upgrading with digital technology empowerment”.
Zhong Tenglong, associate professor at the School of International Economics and Trade of the Central University of Finance and Economics, said China's digital economy is developing against the backdrop of the global digital economy. “Global digital trade has become a new driving force for economic development and will become a new engine for China's economic growth.”
The “Dream Town” located in Hangzhou is one of the first batch of Internet innovative towns in Zhejiang Province, attracting many enterprises to “build nests” here. Zhang Jie, Chairman of Huadan Angel Investment Company and founder of “Dream Town” Wanxi accelerator, said that as China's Internet industry enters the “second half”, Chinese local brands are taking advantage of the trend to rise, and entrepreneurs with “international vision” would usher in their “new track”.
China now has 301 unicorns, second only to the United States, according to Hurun Research Institute. Liu Rongjun, Co-founder of Microchain, said China's call for “mass entrepreneurship and innovation” is conducive to boosting the entrepreneurship wave. A large number of investors are sharing their opinions on new trends and their entrepreneurial experiences, encouraging more and more young people to “embrace innovation”.
Wang Hailun, Chairman of Hangzhou Zongdian Data Technology Co. LTD., believes that China has entered the digital era, and the youth of the two countries should seize the new opportunities brought by the digital industry and make preparation for future markets.
Xue Tengjiao, an e-commerce expert and tutor of the President class of Zhejiang University, expressed that under the background of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, the youth of China and Cambodia should grasp the pulse of the new era and achieve “win-win cooperation” through live-broadcasts and e-commerce.
“Cloud Seminar” brings new opportunities to the youth of the two countries
Jan Nimo, State Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia and Minister of Finance and Entrepreneurship Promotion of the Cambodia Youth Federation, believes that the holding of the “Cloud Seminar” has not only consolidated the traditional friendship between the youth of China and Cambodia, but also brought new ideas, new enlightenment and huge development opportunities for them. She encouraged young people of the two countries to actively participate in promoting China's “Belt and Road Initiative” and Cambodia's “Four Corners Strategy” and realize their own value through cooperation.
Sukhum Darabi, Executive Deputy Director of the Cambodia Development Center and Deputy Director of the Publicity and Public Relations Division of the Central Committee of the Cambodian Youth Federation, believes that the “Cloud Seminar” has further strengthened the understanding and mutual trust between the youth of the two countries, enabling Cambodian youths to better understand China and China's technological development, and find ways to better integrate into the “Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
According to Wang Su, Chief Technology Officer of Zhiyu Technology Company, the “Cloud Seminar” is a platform full of vigor and vitality, based on which Chinese and Cambodian youths could develop a broader vision and a more solid friendship through joint learning and exchange.
Sok Sokhen, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and Minister of International Relations and External Cooperation of the Cambodian Youth Federation, indicated that the in-depth exchanges between young people of the two countries on topics such as digital economy, innovation and entrepreneurship, entrepreneur training, e-commerce and smart city have helped Cambodian youths develop their abilities and talents, laying a foundation for succeeding bilateral cooperation.
In her speech, Dong Xia, Deputy Secretary-General of the All-China Youth Federation, encouraged the youth of the two countries to continue to work hand in hand. She hoped that the “Cloud Seminar” could still be held in the future and become an effective and sustainable platform for youth exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries. Dong Xia also noted that opening up to the outside world has always been one of the codes of China's success in economy, and is an unwavering policy that China adheres to. The purpose of holding the “Cloud Seminar” is to empower youth in areas where they can play a role and provide new impetus for China-Cambodia cooperation by making good use of the open platform and the “Belt and Road” platform.
