On May 17th, the China-Latin America Youth Development Forum was held in Beijing. The forum, themed "Harnessing Sino-Latin American Innovative Forces for Youth Development," gathered nearly a hundred youth representatives from Latin American and Caribbean countries both online and offline. He Junke, the First Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee, and Cai Wei, Director-General of the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, attended and addressed the forum. Nádia Beatriz Martins Garcia Pereira, National Secretary of the Youth League of the Workers' Party of Brazil, Caridad Meyvis Estévez Echevarría, Second Secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, Diego Alonso Fernando Bazán Calderón, Congressman of the Republic of Peru, and Grecia Elymar Colmenares Santander, Secretary-General of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela Youth, gave speeches at the opening ceremony.

In his speech, He Junke stressed that in order to address the common challenges facing all humanity and advance the cause of world peace and development, it is incumbent upon the youth. He called on all countries to regard young people as a major human resource for development, boosting their sense of responsibility, empowering their growth, facilitating their cooperation, and promoting national and human development through youth development, thereby contributing their wisdom and strength to building a global community of shared future and a better world.

During the exchanges and discussions, leaders of youth organizations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, Venezuela, and other countries spoke on the priority areas and emerging topics of youth policy. They highly praised China's achievements in the process of modernization and actively responded to China's proposals on prioritizing youth development and strengthening international youth cooperation.

This forum is an important event of the "Bridge of the Future" China-Latin American Young Leaders Training Campus in 2023, which was proposed by President Xi Jinping. It has been successfully held for seven sessions since 2015 by the All-China Youth Federation, providing an institutionalized platform for fostering friendship and cooperation among Sino-Latin American youth.
