Through the pilot project of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), implemented between September and November 2024 with the support of UNESCO, children and young people in the region have strengthened their environmental awareness and acquired tools to face the challenges of climate change.
This initiative has allowed students to practically understand the impacts of climate change in their environment, promoting mitigation strategies and fostering meaningful learning experiences. Through field activities, interactive workshops, and direct contact with Sumaco’s unique biodiversity, participants have learned to value and protect their territory with a sustainability-focused approach.
