【2026 Acceleration Week】 Green Development丨Learn To Serve Vanuatu

Led by local youth and backed by local communities, Learn To Serve Vanuatu focused environmental project on Pentecost Island addresses local erosion issues, climate knowledge gaps and ecological degradation. Through ecosystem restoration, climate education and inclusive community participation across all ages, the project strengthens disaster resilience, repairs degraded land and seascape, and fosters sustainable climate action for future generations.

Key Impact Data:

·Erosion Risk Reduction: Restored coastlines, riverbanks and roadsides, lowering landslide and flood risks and protecting community infrastructure.

·Ecosystem Restoration: Carried out tree planting and vetiver grass cultivation to restore degraded landscapes, boost carbon sequestration and improve biodiversity.

·Climate Literacy Improvement: Delivered community awareness sessions to bridge climate information gaps and guide practical environmental actions.

·Wide Community Coverage: Benefiting over 12 inland and coastal communities with inclusive participation of residents of all ages.

·Eco-Livelihood Integration: Fruit tree planting supports household food security while advancing carbon reduction and ecological balance.
