At the 2026 World Youth Development Forum, Peng Weizi, a journalist from CGTN, interviewed several long-standing participants of the forum. David Chua, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Council Singapore, has witnessed the forum’s growth over the years as well as its far-reaching influence on young Singaporean attendees. Hoodh lbrahim, a young representative from the Maldives, came up with the idea of setting up the China-Maldives Culture, Tourism, and Trade Promotion Association (CMCTTPA) when he attended the forum for the first time last year. During this year’s event, he secured a cooperation letter of intent from a major enterprise and plans to provide energy solutions for remote islands across the Maldives. These stories illustrate that the value of the forum extends far beyond its brief duration. Its greater significance lies in forging time-tested partnerships and facilitating sustained collaboration.
