Green Development丨Arafat Dimah: Leveraging Digital Innovation to Improve Public Service Connectivity in Northern Ghana

2026 Acceleration Week for Global Youth Development Programs   17:00, October 19, 2026

Arafat Dimah, a young Ghanaian, is co-founder and Technical Lead of the Tinla Initiative for Green Delivery and Mobility in Northern Ghana.

The Tinla Initiative for Green Delivery and Mobility in Northern Ghana is a youth-led digital mobility and local delivery platform operating in northern Ghana. It aims to fill the gap in formal transport and logistics services in the region. The project has developed and launched a web-based local delivery system that connects consumers with local merchants to deliver food, daily necessities and parcels efficiently. Adopting a distance-based pricing model, the platform fulfils orders through a network of local young riders, helping merchants realise digital transformation and boost delivery efficiency. Meanwhile, the project is developing ride-hailing and intercity passenger transport services to improve the safety, comfort and accessibility of regional travel. Since its launch, Tinla has benefited more than 500 users, including local merchants, young riders and community residents. Some partner merchants have reported substantial sales growth after joining the platform.

Dimah remarked: “Tinla’s selection to take part in the Acceleration Week for 2026 Global Youth Development Programs represents a rare opportunity for us. We get to learn from global mentors, exchange ideas with young innovators worldwide and gain valuable advice. We are also exploring ways to turn Tinla, a community-rooted local solution, into a replicable and scalable sustainable development model.”
